The OMEGA De Ville
Co-Axial Gents’ Collection

When it was introduced in 2007, the OMEGA De Ville Hour Vision heralded a new era for OMEGA. It was the watch that introduced the Co-Axial calibre 8500/8501 whose every part was created in-house using technology that has defined the way mechanical watch movements are made in the 21st century. The De Ville Co-Axial is a celebration of classic watch design and innovative mechanical watchmaking.

The watches in the OMEGA De Ville Co-Axial collection eloquently express exactly what a classic wristwatch for men should be: a traditional 41 mm case in either 18 Ct red gold or stainless steel, a pure dial with beautifully executed Roman numerals and one of the finest mechanical watch movements ever produced.

The De Ville Co-Axial wristwatches in 18 Ct red gold are available with a choice of silver or brown two-zone dials. They are presented on an 18 Ct red gold bracelet or a brown leather strap and are driven by the OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 8501 with an 18 Ct red gold rotor and bridges.

“. . . exactly what a classic mechanical wristwatch for men should be.”

The subtle stainless steel cases have matching bracelets or black or brown leather straps. Their two-zone dials are available in black, blue or silver. These models are powered by OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibre 8500. The sapphire crystal on the snapped caseback allows a clear view of the Co-Axial movement inside the case.

The diamond-polished Roman numerals on the De Ville Co-Axial are applied to a zone which is subtly distinguished from the centre of the dial and there is a date window at 3 o’clock. The 18 Ct gold hour and minute hands are faceted with bevelled ends.

There are also stainless steel De Ville Co-Axial models with an annual calendar function, meaning that the date only needs to be set once a year, on the first of March. These are powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 8601 and are delivered with a choice of a matching bracelet or a black leather strap. The De Ville Co-Axial Annual Calendar wristwatches feature month and date windows at 3 o’clock.

While the De Ville Hour Vision in 2007 was a milestone for OMEGA, it also marked a return to the brand’s roots. OMEGA was, after all, the first watch company ever to produce an industrialized movement – in fact, our founders called that 19-ligne calibre the Omega when it was developed in 1894 and in 1903, it became the name of the entire company. The De Ville Co-Axial collection confirms a great brand’s continuing commitment to innovative watchmaking.
