The Constellation

In 1982, OMEGA launched a watch which introduced a particularly dramatic and enduring design concept. The watch was the Constellation Manhattan, and its now-famous “Griffes” or claws placed it among the ranks of the world’s most instantly identifiable timepieces. It has remained an incredibly popular collection for nearly thirty years. In 2009, OMEGA re-designed the entire family, updating the line and upgrading every feature, attracting a whole new generation of Constellation wearers.

Continuing the legacy

The design of the new Constellations was strongly inspired by its iconic ancestors. The familiar star is still at the 6 o’clock position and the claws, refined and updated, still define every watch in the collection. The bracelets' familiar horizontal links have been re-engineered for maximum comfort.

There are also some features that distinguish the Constellation line from its forebears. The striking dials, in silver, champagne, white mother-of-pearl, black, and brown, are finished with either a sun-brushed finish or a shell structure from the star. Their “Dauphine plume” hands are either rhodium plated or made of 18 Ct gold and coated with Super-LumiNova.

All of the new Constellations are water resistant to a depth of 100 metres / 330 feet / 10 bar.

A nearly unlimited choice

The scope of the Constellation launch in 2009 was unprecedented and OMEGA continues to add compelling new models. With its range of sizes, the choice of metals, the selection of dials and diamond options, the popularity of the line has been extended to an even broader customer base – there is at least one Constellation suited to every woman's wrist.

Like their predecessors, the new ladies' Constellations are at once sporty and elegant. The re-designed family has been created in five sizes: 24 mm, 27 mm, 31 mm, 35 mm and 38 mm. All of the mechanical watches in the collection are equipped with OMEGA's Co-Axial movements, with the innovative escapement that sparked a revolution in mechanical watchmaking in 1999.

A tradition of excellence

The new Constellation line is a dynamic, contemporary upgrade of a watch family that has been an essential part of OMEGA since 1982. The current collection recalls the tradition of the line while proclaiming originality, design excellence and technical innovation that would have been the envy of it ancestors.
