Omega opens second boutique in Manila

Event featured OMEGA president, Richard and Lucy Gomez and a Seamaster in a Clooney-signed watch box

Omega president Stephen Urquhart was in Manila to inaugurate the second Omega boutique in the Philippines, located at the upscale Greenbelt 5.

“Omega has established a strong presence in the Philippines and has enjoyed an excellent reception for the last 60 years. So it is fitting that we open a new boutique in the heart of Manila so we can make our full product range available to Filipinos and serve them even more effectively,” said Mr. Urquhart, who flew in from Switzerland to attend the much-anticipated opening of the new boutique.

Mr. Urquhart brought with him a Seamaster Planet Ocean watch with a special box signed by OMEGA brand ambassador George Clooney, the Oscar-winning actor, director and screenwriter.

The special Seamaster Planet Ocean is a true rarity as George Clooney signed only a few watch boxes to be featured at selected Omega events around the world. Stephen Urquhart pointed out, “This clearly shows how special the Philippines is to Omega.”

To make the celebration even more exciting, Mr. Urquhart, together with local celebrities Richard and Lucy Gomez, placed the special Omega watch in a transparent vault. Guests were then given a key and the lucky holder of the right key will become the new owner of the fine watch housed in the Clooney-signed box.

Along with the George Clooney watch, the new boutique features a complete line of Omega’s world-class collections, including the new Seamaster Aqua Terra Collection, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Quantum of Solace Limited Edition watch and other 007-related products, as well as the Constellation Collection.

The boutique has been designed to make visitors feel comfortable as soon as they walk through the door, featuring soothing and warm colors complemented by finely-crafted windows, display cases and furniture. On the walls are images of the company’s brand ambassadors – prominent men and women who have been selected for the values they share with Omega.

Nearby is a state-of-the-art customer service center which guarantees that Omega wearers in the Philippines will enjoy world-class service and that their questions will be answered by the most qualified professionals in the region.

As part of the celebration, Omega is also participating in the first-ever luxury watch exhibit in Manila, “Treasures: The Art of Time.” The large luxury watch exhibition, which is being held to celebrate the opening of eight other luxury watch brand boutiques in Greenbelt 5, will be the first of its kind in the Philippines.

These activities and the attendance of Omega president Stephen Urquhart highlighted the grand opening of the second Omega franchise boutique in the country which is part of Omega’s network of retailers located in the world’s most desirable shopping locations.

For over 160 years, Omega has maintained a reputation for precision, exquisite design, craftsmanship and style. As an innovator, Omega sparked a revolution in mechanical watchmaking when it launched its first watch with a Co-Axial Escapement in 1999. The brand has been the watch of choice for some of the world’s most fashionable and glamorous celebrities. Omega has also been Official Timekeeper for the Olympic Games 23 times since 1932. The OMEGA Speedmaster has also been the watch worn by NASA’s astronauts on every manned space flight since 1965, including six trips to the moon.

Omega watches are also available at the Omega Boutique on the 2nd level of the TriNoma Mall.
