The second round of the OMEGA Swiss Double Eagle Golf Trophies goes with a swing

Back

The 2004 OMEGA Swiss Double Eagle Golf Trophies is proving to be a highly successful event, as can be seen by the excellent turnout and fine support of the second round held today. The Swiss Double Eagle Golf Trophies is an annual event which reflects prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer OMEGA’s commitment to golf at local as well as international level. The OMEGA Swiss Double Eagle Golf Trophies consists of a series of 8 matches: the winners of every match will play against each other at the Gran Final which will take place in the Golf Club Laegern near Zurich in August 2004.

The Golf Club Lugano in Magliaso played host to the second round which was co-hosted by OMEGA and for the second time by the Tourbillon Boutique Lugano, a Swatch Group retailer. The event enjoyed a vast turnout of 150 participants and the demand to take part was again so high this year that waiting lists were necessary.

Players, a mix of Golf Club members and Tourbillon Boutique customers, as well as local VIPs and prominent personalities, began the day with breakfast at the 9th hole. After a successful day’s play, guests enjoyed an apéritif followed by dinner at the Club house. The Club is situated in a picturesque location: 200m from Lake Lugano in the beautiful southern canton of Ticino.

Mrs Antonietta Castelnuovo, representing event co-organiser Tourbillon Boutique Lugano, emphasised the great day, saying, “This was again a wonderful tournament. There was a splendid, relaxed atmosphere and it was great to see such an excellent turnout. Many participants even told me that OMEGA's golf tournament is the best one of the year. And the success shows it: we were able to strengthen the Boutique's image in the Lugano area as well as our commitment to golf”.

The third round in this series of eight will take place in the newly opened Moossee Golf Club near Switzerlands capital city Berne.
