World's supermodel and OMEGA's star brand ambassador visits Malaysia to present the Brand?s new luxury jewellery collection

KUALA LUMPUR, August 18, 2005 - World-renowned supermodel and OMEGA's star brand ambassador Cindy Crawford launched the luxury jewellery collection, aptly known as the OMEGA Bijoux collection, in Malaysia today.

One of the most anticipated jewellery ranges to be brought into Malaysia, the "Bijoux" collection by OMEGA, comprises four lines - the "Griffes" line that bears the distinctive hallmarks of the famous claws of the Constellation watches, the "Omegamania" line which is the last letter in the Greek alphabet representing accomplishment and perfection, the Sedna line and the Aqua line.

Explaining that each item in the Bijoux collection was crafted with precious materials to the most exacting standards and designed by master craftsmen to portray timeless elegance, Mr Stephen Urquhart, President of OMEGA said, "We are delighted to bring the Bijoux collection to Malaysia. Our watch collection, especially the Constellation series for ladies, has done very well in this highly sophisticated market, and we are confident that our Bijoux collection will appeal to connoisseurs of fine jewellery in Malaysia".

As an ambassador for the brand for 10 years now, Crawford has consistently communicated the values of the brand all over the world.

"I must say the OMEGA Bijoux collection is one of my favourites.  It comprises distinctive pieces, with each one a true masterpiece of craftsmanship and style, which I am proud to be associated with as an Omega ambassador", said Crawford.

Crawford's first time visit to Malaysia also comprised a short press conference at the Westin Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Residences, where she appeared with Urquhart.  Right after the press conference, both Crawford and Urquhart visited the newly refurbished Cortina Watch Espace at the Starhill Gallery, where Cindy was greeted by a troupe of graceful young ballerinas and their "Tinker Bell" routine.

Crawford then befittingly unveiled the OMEGA Bijoux Collection with the placement of a luminous jewel and the entire backdrop sprung to "life" with the word OMEGAMANIA.  Subsequently, Crawford was accompanied by Urquhart and guests to visit the OMEGA shop-in-shop at Cortina.

The entourage also viewed the Omegamania watch that Crawford donated for auction in conjunction with her visit to Malaysia.  The watch, an 18-carat white gold icon from the Omegamania collection, features a red mother-of-pearl dial, lacquered red calfskin strap and is set with 41 diamonds. The Omegamania watch also comes with a personalised signature by Cindy Crawford.

Proceeds from the month-long auction of the Omegamania timepiece, which will be revealed during the OMEGA gala dinner later that evening will be channelled to two orphanages, namely Yayasan Sunbeams Home and Rumah Sayangan.

"OMEGA is proud to be able to contribute to this worthy cause and touch the lives of these children. It is befitting for Cindy to be part of this initiative as she truly personifies and communicates the very essence of OMEGA all over the world", concluded Mr Urquhart.

Crawford also reminded her audience that time is a very valuable and rare commodity for her, which his why she likes to surround herself with her children and family - her "personal jewellery" whenever possible.

Right after the visit to Cortina Watch Espace, Crawford took time out to visit the Rumah Sayangan orphanage.  At the orphanage, Crawford read a lovely story to the children and gave out goodie bags to each of them.
