OMEGA Ladymatic presents CNN’s Leading Women – Katrina Markoof

Back

Leading Women, a CNN television series that connects its viewers to extraordinary women at the top of their chosen fields, is sponsored by OMEGA Ladymatic. The Ladymatic collection is distinguished by its bold, statement-making design and a mechanical movement widely considered to be among the best in the world. Every month, two influential women are featured. For the second show of July, OMEGA and CNN introduce Katrina Markoof, founder of the “Vosges Haut-Chocolat” chocolate factory based in Chicago.

Ms. Katrina Markoof, 39, is a young and brilliant entrepreneur, founder of the “Vosges Haut-Chocolat” chocolate factory based in Chicago. Since the opening of her first store 14 years ago, the original recipes of Katrina Markoof became such a success that the brand is now sold in more than 3,000 stores across the United States.

Katrina finds her inspiration in travel, leisure and through her experiences in the best kitchens in France, Italy, Thailand or China. Ms. Markoof thus had the idea of combining the famous bean with ingredients for the less unusual such as bacon, curry, Tallegio, an Italian cheese.

First formed in Paris in the renowned culinary school Le Cordon Bleu, she honed her craft qualifications through internships with top leaders and especially Alberto Adria in the famous restaurant El Bulli. Ms. Katrina Markoff is personally involved from the conception of the recipes, to the packaging and the creation of the collections. Vosges Haut-Chocolat is positioned as sustainable, responsible and luxurious. Audacious creations coupled with original packaging just like those cigar vintage boxes thus enabled her to conquer a wider public, including men.
As a founder and shareholder of Vosges “Haut-Chocolat”, the company has even been certified "WBES": Women Business Enterprise.
