OMEGA celebrates the art of watchmaking at Mumbai with the ‘OMEGA Co-Axial Exhibition’

OMEGA, the Swiss luxury watch brand synonymous the world over for its art and craft of watchmaking, has launched the ‘OMEGA Co-Axial Exhibition’ at Inorbit Mall, Malad, in Mumbai. The exhibition, which will be open for viewing till 17 November, 2013, showcases OMEGA’s unique blend of cutting-edge technology and its leadership in styling and design.

The opening event offered guests an opportunity to discover the brand’s long history of innovation through a series of guided tours featuring some dazzling displays of the 'Co-Axial' watch movements, which are considered to be among the best in the world.
 
Programme
Amidst a large gathering, the curtains were raised on the much-anticipated exhibition in the presence of Mr Abhishek Bachchan, OMEGA brand ambassador, and Mr Jean Claude Monachon, OMEGA’s Vice President of Product Development.  After the ritual ribbon cutting, Mr Monachon took the actor on a tour of the exhibition, explaining the nuances of the Co-Axial movements that ensure the steady beating of the heart of every OMEGA timepiece.  An avid watch collector himself, Mr Bachchan was captivated by the displays. Mr Monachon also presented an OMEGA Seamaster >15’000 Gauss – the world’s first truly anti-magnetic mechanical watch – to the brand ambassador.


 

Commenting on the occasion, the actor said, ”OMEGA is not just a watchmaker, it is the brand that leads its industry in innovation and technology. The Co-Axial movement has taken mechanical watchmaking to the next phase. I’m glad that OMEGA has brought this exhibition to Mumbai and now Mumbaikars will have an opportunity to appreciate and understand the true art of watchmaking. ” 


 

Venue
The atrium of the Inorbit Mall was transformed into a dynamic museum space to showcase the revolutionary movements as well as the level of precision involved in creating OMEGA’s exclusive Co-Axial movement. Also on display were some of the brand's most important and iconic and timepieces.
