As a day of sporting action came to a close in Rio, OMEGA House opened its doors for another memorable night on Ipanema Beach. Wednesday’s celebration was “Rhythm and Style”, with a musical performance from renowned saxophonist Kenny G, as well as a special appearance from glamorous Brazilian model Carol Trentini.

Both guests of honour walked the red carpet and spoke to OMEGA about the thrill of being in Rio. Before playing his half hour set, Kenny G said, “I’ve been so looking forward to coming here to Brazil again. I’ve seen the gymnastics and the volleyball and this morning I was out watching the golf. I’m so glad I’m here. If you’re ever thinking about going to the Olympic Games, just go!”

Carol Trentini, who has appeared on the covers of some of the world’s top fashion magazines, was looking typically stunning for the night. For her, there is a real excitement in seeing the Olympic Games in her home nation. “As a Brazilian, it gives me goosebumps just being here in Rio for the Olympic Games. I felt the energy as soon as I stepped off the plane and Brazil is doing really well in the events which is great. And OMEGA HOUSE, I’ve heard so much about it I just had to come here to see it.”

The nightlife in Rio is quickly gathering pace as athletes finish their competitions and begin enjoying the sights and sounds of the city. Certainly, OMEGA HOUSE is a popular destination and Wednesday saw another wave of Olympic Games athletes and VIP guests.

The highlight of OMEGA’s “Rhythm and Style” event was the rich sounds of Kenny G. Having sold over 75 million records, he is one of the world’s best-selling instrumentalists. His saxophone performance at OMEGA HOUSE included a classic mix of smooth hits and well-known songs including “Songbird”.
President and CEO of OMEGA, Raynald Aeschlimann, was also at the “Rhythm and Style” night. He gave his thoughts on the Rio 2016 Olympic Games which is now well into its second week. “Every day, we’re seeing new achievements, records and emotional moments from the athletes in Rio. It’s such a pleasure to be here as the Official Timekeeper and to record such a spectacular range of events. The memorable moments haven’t stopped since we arrived.”

OMEGA HOUSE has been open every day and night of the Olympic Games, toasting athletic success and celebrating the brand’s role as Official Timekeeper for the 27th time since 1932. With just a few days left to go, the music, food and fun won’t stop until the very last sporting event has finished.
