OMEGA Soling Championship 2003

Back

For the second year running OMEGA was sponsor and official timekeeper of a high-level sailing event on the Attersee in Austria. After the successful debut of the Soling European Championships in 2001, the sailing elite once again converged on the Kammersee Sailing Club to battle for the title of Austrian Soling Champion at the open championship on the Attersee. Teams from Germany, Denmark, Hungary, Slovakia, as well as a ladies' team from the USA, challenged the local stars, making for an appealing international sailing event

The international field of entrants and a large number of favourites ensured plenty of excitement at the OMEGA Soling Championship. However, it was in the end Carl Auteried who defended the honours of "his" club, leaving no doubt as to which is the best Austrian Soling team this year. Three superlative competition victories secured him the title in this international Austrian championship in the Soling class.

The winning team of Carl Auteried / Martin Kendler / Thomas Jakobowitz was naturally rewarded for their success by title sponsor OMEGA. The overall winners each received an exclusive OMEGA Seamaster Professional divers' watch.

This year, OMEGA will also be title sponsor of the traditional sailing week on the Wolfgangssee for the first time. The "OMEGA Classics" are the perfect mix of tradition, lifestyle, aesthetics and sailing. This prestigious event, held in St. Gilden am Wolfgangsee (22 – 27 July 2003), with its prominent participants and unique yachts, promises to be a memorable event for sailors and spectators alike.
