A star in Peru

The Hospital in the Sky is OMEGA’s second documentary capturing the work of Orbis International and features long-time ambassador Cindy Crawford who, with her 13-year-old daughter Kaia, visited the organization’s Flying Eye Hospital during its programme in Trujillo, a city on Peru’s northern coast. The full version of the film will be available on YouTube in 2015.

“ At the local airport the baggage handlers await a unique visitor. An aircraft unlike any other in the world. An aircraft that can perform miracles. It is a totally self-sufficient, fully operational flying eye hospital.“

A life-changing contribution

Four special watches have been created to celebrate the partnership between OMEGA and Orbis International. OMEGA has pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from each of these striking timepieces to Orbis International and its Flying Eye Hospital.

Orbis in Mongolia

In 2012, brand ambassador Daniel Craig and OMEGA joined Orbis during its programme in Mongolia to witness first-hand the work that the dedicated volunteers and eye care professionals were doing. His experience was captured in the documentary Through Their Eyes.

Hold on tight

OMEGA understands that going to the doctor can be scary, that’s why we’ve supplied Orbis International with cuddly teddy bears for each young patient on-board the Flying Eye Hospital. The teddy bears not only serve as a source of comfort for children and their families, but also help the surgeons explain to patients what will be happening to them throughout the treatment. When the child comes out of the operating room, his or her teddy bear will have a matching eye patch.
