Sochi 2014

In 2014, OMEGA proudly assumed the responsibilities of Olympic Games Official Timekeeper for the 26th time since 1932. The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi were marked with thrilling competition in a city filled with rich culture and a lively atmosphere.

In February and March 2014, the Russian Federation hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in the city of Sochi, located on the shores of the Black Sea near the Caucasus Mountains. Construction of the modern infrastructure with brand new venues made this among of the greatest building projects ever associated with an Olympic Games.

The Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games were the most compact in the history of the Olympic Movement – the Organizing Committee achieved its goal of keeping the distances between arenas, as well as between the Mountain and Coastal clusters, short and handicap accessible.

OMEGA’s timekeeping professionals worked closely with the IOC and the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee from the beginning stages to ensure that the results of each Olympic and Paralympic athlete were timed, recorded and displayed with the utmost precision and reliability.
