Swimming

Competitive swimming has come a long way since three timekeepers with handheld stopwatches crowded each of the eight lanes in major international events. OMEGA has developed equipment that flawlessly times the performances of the world’s great swimmers.

The association between OMEGA and swimming dates back to 1932 when the brand was first entrusted with the official timekeeping of all disciplines at the Olympic Games including swimming. The relationship is still going strong – OMEGA serves as official timekeeper at the world’s highest-profile swimming events and has also been responsible for the development of much of the most important equipment used to time competitive swimming. These high-quality innovations include the starting blocks and touch pads at the end of each lane. The brand has also pioneered the use of high-speed video cameras as reliable backup systems in major swimming competitions such as the Olympic Games and World Championships.

Our partnership with FINA and presence at several major international aquatic events reaffirms OMEGA’s commitment to swimmers and divers around the world – a commitment that includes providing the best possible technology to help them succeed and to deliver their results accurately when they do.

From our long-time relationship with the Olympic Games and FINA, to our outstanding swimming ambassadors – Olympians Michael Phelps, Chad le Clos and Alexander Popov – OMEGA is proud to be associated with such an elegant and demanding sport and commends the aquatic athletes worldwide who share our high level of dedication.
