Omega 19''' Grade Ddr, 1905
François Chevillat designed the Omega movement but he was not content to rest on that impressive achievement. One of the derivatives he created was the so-called “DDR” which could be adjusted incredibly precisely.
Designer: François Chevillat
Description: This highly precise, extraordinarily fine-finished chronometer represented the best factory-produced quality to be achieved around the turn of the century: the silvered nickel Lépine movement featured 23 jewels, including first class diamonds as well as rubies, two of which were mounted on the barrel arbour. It also had a Maltese cross stop and end stones set with diamonds on the pallets, the pallet-wheels and the balance.
The pallet fork was produced with a balanced counter-poise. The rubies were set in screwed gold collets, and the movement had gold balance-screws. The extremely precise adjustment was made by means of a swan-neck regulator with graduated snail.
