Sporting Spirit
Sports timekeeping has been a part of the Omega story for more than a century. We are happy to be at the service of the men and women who generate so much excitement through their consistent determination to be the best at what they do. Their results deserve to be flawlessly timed, boldly displayed, and recorded for future generations. Omega has been responsible for the timekeeping of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, including 25 Olympic Games, and also for the development of the equipment which has ensured that the technology has kept pace with ever-better performances.

Sochi 2014
OMEGA has begun the 365-day countdown to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, where it will measure, record and display the results of each competition as we return to our role as Official Timekeeper for the 26th time since 1932.
Olympic Timekeeping History
Timekeeping technology has changed dramatically since OMEGA’s first Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 and we have been responsible for the development of much of the equipment which plays such a critical role in international sporting events.

Birth of Modern Timekeeping
Throughout the past 25 Olympic Games, OMEGA has been known for its introduction of revolutionary technology that precisely captures and records the triumphs of athletes from all over the world.

Golf
OMEGA has long supported professional golf and has worked to make it a truly global sport. We look forward to golf’s Olympic début in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

Swimming
OMEGA’s relationship with swimming dates back to the 1932 Olympic Games, when swimming events were timed with hand held stopwatches. We still time the world’s best swimmers with technology which flawlessly records their performances to the nearest hundredth of a second.

Athletics
OMEGA’s timekeepers deliver perfect results in athletic events at competitions all over the world – even when eight runners cross the finish line within a quarter second of each other.
