THE DASHING FRENCH MODEL

THE DASHING FRENCH MODEL

Cast in 18K red gold and made for the French market, OMEGA released the “Tubogas” in 1946. Due to its difficult design requirements, only a small number were ever made. The watch was designed in Paris by Maison Brandt Frères and featured the world’s first “Tubogas” bracelet, recognisable by its novel articulation. At the time, the watch appeared in an advertisement drawn by the era’s leading fashion illustrator, René Gruau.

The “Tubogas” bracelet has since gone on to become an industry standard. However, the original timepiece remains a rare item sought after by collectors.
