Armand Duplantis
Mondo Duplantis is a Swedish/American pole vaulter and current world record holder. A high-flyer with a down-to-earth attitude, Mondo is famous for chasing new world records at every competition.

How Mondo marks time

“OMEGA has deep roots in athletics as well as the Olympic Games. For as long as I can remember, and well before, they have always been Official Timekeeper, so it’s fantastic to represent such an amazing brand.”
World’s Highest Flyer

Mondo was born into an athletic family and became a pole vaulter at the age of three. After a hugely successful 2018, with two gold medal wins at the European Championships and U20 World Championships, Mondo turned pro in 2019.

In that same year, he won silver at the World Championships in Doha. In 2020, Mondo Duplantis broke two world records in one week. After breaking Renaud Lavillenie's almost 6-year-old world record with a jump of 6.17 m in Toruń, Poland, Armand competed in Glasgow Scotland, where he increased the record by 1 cm to 6.18 m.

In that same year, OMEGA’s high flying sporting ambassador also cleared the bar at 6.15 m to claim the best outdoor mark. His extraordinary performance in 2020 also earned him high praise: World Atheltics “Best Male Athlete of the Year Award”.

Mondo became Olympic Champion in Tokyo in 2021 and broke his own world record three times in 2022. Continuing the trajectory in 2023, Mondo raised the bar twice in a single year, setting a new mark of 6.22m in February and 6.23m in September.

“We’ve actually had an old Seamaster, maybe from the 60s, passed down from my great grandfather. It’s gone down from generation to generation, so OMEGA is part of my family tradition.”
