OMEGA ambassador Ernie Els leads the field after first round

South African Ernie Els put in a respectable 6 under par in his first round at this year's OMEGA European Masters. A consistent round including seven birdies and only one bogey was enough for Ernie to tie for first place with the defending champion Robert Karlsson.

Despite admitting to being tired and having a lot of hard work behind him after the majors, Ernie also benefited from being able to feed off the other players, since Ricardo Gonzalez also put in a sound 4 under par, with an eagle on the 15th.
