Another hole-in-one and a first for Switzerland!

Switzerland's Alexandre Chopard caused a sensation during the final round of the OMEGA European Masters by shooting a hole-in-one on the 16th.

So improbable was the feat that no prize was up for grabs for this hole. Title sponsor OMEGA was, however, willing to make an exception for such an amazing achievement. Chopard's final round mirrored Ernie Els's rollercoaster ride of yesterday with seven bogeys, two birdies and his eagle hole-in-one. Like Patrick Sjoland, who scored an ace on the 8th hole in the first round, Chopard was also in the day's first flight out and only the second person to play the hole today. As Switzerland's only remaining player in the tournament, the 26 year-old from Neuchâtel was also the first Swiss player to score a hole-in-one on the European Tour. He was rewarded with an OMEGA Railmaster watch by OMEGA President Stephen Urquhart.
