Winner of OMEGA internet competition meets Schumacher

Prestige watch manufacturer OMEGA, a partner of racing champion Schumacher since 1995, was delighted to join in the celebrations of the winner of its internet competition to meet its star brand ambassador. Mauro Faralli, from Italy, was the lucky name drawn at random from the shortlist of correct entries. Mr Faralli spent a wonderful day at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany, where he had the chance to spend time watching the action from the exclusive confines of the VIP lounge, and of course to meet Schumi, talk with him over dinner, and pose for photos with the champion of Formula 1.

When Mr Faralli, who works in a supermarket in Arezzo, entered the on-line competition on the OMEGA website, he had no idea that he would soon be jetting off to realise his dream of meeting Michael Schumacher. The internet competition involved answering two simple questions related to the long-term partnership between OMEGA and Michael Schumacher. The response and the number of correct entries submitted was impressive, but there could only be one winner.

Mr Faralli was clearly delighted with the success of his trip. "It was incredible, even better than I could ever have imagined! I have never won a competition in my life and this was a really amazing surprise for me. The OMEGA team organised my travel arrangements and hotel accommodation in Germany perfectly. The programme was impressive – I have never seen so many Ferrari cars. The VIP lounge gave us a very good view of the track and the day's action."

When asked how he would describe his encounter with Schumi, he replied,"I found him very real and responsive – a very kind individual. I was impressed by the genuine relationship that OMEGA has with its ambassadors. It was really amazing to have dinner so close to him".

A lover of watches as well as racing, Mr Faralli does not yet own an OMEGA. "I am a great fan of the space conquest and have been wanting to buy the Moon Watch for a long time".
