Sports stars compete in the second edition of the Cannes OMEGA cup

A host of international sports stars turned out on the Old Course green in Cannes-Mandelieu for the second Cannes OMEGA Cup, invited by the OMEGA Flagship Store in Cannes for a truly memorable golf match which reflected classic OMEGA values: precision, excellence, emotion and fair play.

Numerous famous personalities enjoyed tackling the 18 holes of the sumptuous and recently rejuvenated Old Course in Cannes-Mandelieu, which belongs to the famous Camerini family. The prestige of competing in this second Cannes OMEGA Cup attracted stars of the highest calibre from the sporting world, including David Ginola.. He emphasised his excitement at having the opportunity to take part in this event, saying, “I am passionate about golf. Whenever I go, I always try to find out straight away where are the best golf courses in the area”.

Frederic Bondoux, OMEGA Brand Manager for France, was delighted that the event was so well received and paid tribute to the work of Mrs Sylvie Froger, manager of the OMEGA Flagship Store in Cannes. Mr Bondoux stressed the fact that the brand is committed to golf at national as well as international level, saying that OMEGA personifies elegance, precision and perfection: values that can also be found in golf. OMEGA is already well known as the title sponsor of major golf tournaments on the European and Asian circuits. This is why we decided to create this event and we are delighted with its success.

Other renowned sports stars present included Marco Simone, Jérôme Alonzo, Eric Roy, Alain Boghossian, Eric Di'Meco, Bruno Germain, Stéphane Poratto and Vincent Cobos..
In addition, former champion rally driver Michele Mouton, and world karate champion Christophe Pinna and Dominique Valera all seized the opportunity to take part in this unique sporting occasion. Rendez vous next year !
