For the second consecutive year, Omega was proud to present a fine 18-carat gold Aqua Terra chronometer to a player who has scored a hole in one on the 8th hole of the Severiano Ballesteros course during the Omega European Masters.
After Sweden's Patrick Sjoland scored an ace during the first round last year, Stephen Scahill from New Zealand repeated the performance this year on his final round with a 168-metre 8 iron shot on the par-3 hole. Omega president Stephen Urquhart was waiting to present the Kiwi with the watch once he had signed his card. Scahill's hole in one - the first ever in his 10 years as a pro - helped him on to a solid final round of 66, leaving him 8 under par overall after four rounds.
