This morning, Michelle Wie and Sergio Garcia, played together for the first time on the course during a practice round. The numerous spectators following last year’s winner of the tournament and the sixteen year old golf phenomenon had the opportunity to discover Michelle Wie’s fluid swings and her long drives. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Michelle evaluated all the challenges of this difficult green and benefitted from Sergio’s experience and said she “learned a lot from him today”. She enjoyed very much her practice round explaining that although this course suits her, the greens are “interesting in the sense that they are undulating and small” but that what gave this course “much more character and uniqueness”.
Later during the press conference she gave, Michelle said how “perfect” the greens were and that the view was so beautiful up here that you could “sometimes get distracted”. Michelle will be playing her tenth men’s event and expressed how excited she was: “I love playing men’s events and the challenge. I feel an adrenaline rush when I play these events and it is a lot of fun.”
