The Oscar-winning actor and director joins the prestigious watchmaking brand to become its latest international ambassador
Bienne, 15 March 2007. The prestige Swiss watchmaking company OMEGA renowned for its unparalleled reputation in the domain of excellence, precision and innovation, today announced that it had concluded a partnership agreement with the world famous American actor and director George Clooney, who joins the illustrious family of international brand ambassadors. Mr Clooney will feature prominently in OMEGA’s promotional activities worldwide with the exception of the United States and Canada.

George Clooney has shown tremendous versatility in the roles he has undertaken, not only as an actor but also as a writer, director and producer. His acting skills have been recompensed on many occasions: he received an Oscar in 2006 for his performance in “Syriana,” as well as being nominated as director and writer for “Good Night and Good Luck.” He has twice been honoured with a Golden Globe Award - first for his role in “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” and for best supporting actor for “Syriana.”
In 2002 George Clooney directed his first feature film, “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” followed by “Good Night, and Good Luck.” in 2005. Among the many awards Clooney received from “Good Night, and Good Luck.” include an award for “Best Screenplay” at the Venice Film Festival. Clooney received yet another accolade in October 2006 with the Amercian Cinematheque Award in recognition of his significant contribution to the entertainment industry and the art of motion pictures.
