The 30th Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) European Championships open today in Budapest and OMEGA is on hand as Official Timekeeper. The event features championships in pool and open swimming, synchronized swimming and diving. OMEGA has long been active not only in the timekeeping of international swimming events but the development of some of the most important equipment used in competitions, such as the start blocks and the touch pads at the end of the lanes in the pools.
Nory Kructchen, the President of LEN, is enthusiastic about returning to Budapest four years after the city last hosted the Championships saying, “The Organising Committee already demonstrated in 2006 that they know how to make us all feel welcome and ready for the best Continental Championships. This 30th edition in 2010 will surely set a new standard as they strive with enthusiasm to apply their previous experience towards new heights of excellence.” The Championships will take place between the 4th and 15th of August.
