2011 PGA Grand Slam of Golf - final round

PGA Champion Keegan Bradley won the 29th PGA Grand Slam of Golf on Wednesday at the Port Royal Golf Club in Southampton, Bermuda, finishing with a 67-71-138.

Despite starting the second round by landing his approach shot in the water and bogeying the first hole, Bradley settled down on the back nine to outduel his three European competitors, finishing at -4.

Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel, who started the day seven shots off the lead, finished the front nine with a bang by chipping out of a bunker to make his 5th consecutive birdie of the day, shooting a 31 on the front nine.  His birdie run got him back into contention, as he went into the turn tied with Bradley at -2.  Scwartzel’s string of five consecutive birdies helped him secure the low round of the 36-hole event, shooting a 65.

Schwartzel finished second overall with a 74-65-139, U.S. Open Champion Rory McIlroy finished third with a 67-75-142 and Open Champion Darren Clarke finished fourth with a 77-74-151.

The 29th PGA Grand Slam of Golf marked the second event of OMEGA’s new, long-term partnership with The PGA of America and represents a major breakthrough for OMEGA in the sport of golf in the United States.
