New Birth of Modern Timekeeping iPad App highlights history of OMEGA and the London Olympic Games


Coinciding with the London 2012 Olympic Games, where OMEGA will serve as the Official Timekeeper for the 25th time, the brand releases the Birth of Modern Timekeeping iPad application, letting users explore the history behind the London 1948 and 2012 Olympic Games as well as the innovative tools OMEGA has consistently introduced to flawlessly record and display Olympic athletes’ times and scores.

Birth of Modern Timekeeping is a tribute not only to the London 1948 Olympic Games and its athletic heroes, but to the technology and innovative creations that OMEGA introduced in order to capture these Olympic moments. OMEGA celebrates the rich history of the Olympic movement and its role as the Olympic Games Official Timekeeper for the 25th time this year, and with this iPad App users can dive into the timekeeping world and discover the stories and explanations behind the innovations the brand has introduced to the Olympic Games over the past 80 years.


This newly-released App also provides users with access to information and images of the OMEGA’s line of Olympic Games-themed watches, including the timeless collection of pocket watches and the Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Chronograph “London 2012” and Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial “London 2012” Limited Edition timepieces.
