In a dramatic showdown with competitors Yelena Isinbayeva and Cuba's Yarisley Silva, pole vaulter and OMEGA brand ambassador Jenn Suhr won the Olympic gold medal on Monday night.
For the American star, it was the second time she’d been on the Olympic podium, having claimed the silver medal in Beijing in 2008 when she finished second to Isinbayeva.
Da Silva took the silver medal and Isinbaeva, who had won gold in 2004 and 2008 settled for bronze in London.
Reacting to her gold medal performance, Jenn Suhr said, “This is so special. The national pride that comes with representing my country and knowing that billions of people are watching on television around the world make the Olympics different from any other competition. It’s the moment that all of us work towards and it’s truly a thrill to have reached my goal.”
OMEGA congratulates its ambassador on her gold medal-winning performance.
Jenn Suhr, as an OMEGA brand ambassador, was featured prominently in the “Start Me Up” television commercial, available on YouTube.
