OMEGA welcomes Sensational American Golfer Michelle Wie to the 2013 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia


OMEGA brand ambassador Michelle Wie is in Malaysia to compete in the 2013 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. On Monday, before the tournament, she took time to meet with the local press, sharing her experience and discussing her relationship with OMEGA.

The sensational American golfer, who has been an OMEGA brand ambassador for nearly seven years, talked about her relationship with the brand saying, “OMEGA has worked actively to promote golf as a global sport and the brand is like a family to me. They take great care of me and no matter where I go with OMEGA, I am always made to feel welcome and at home.”


Michelle Wie joined OMEGA’s family of ambassadors in 2006 and she has been building an impressive resume in golf since a young age. At 10, she became the youngest player to qualify for the USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship in 2000 and qualified for an LPGA event when she was 12. Michelle is one of the longest hitters ever, routinely knocking drives over 300 yards. With her talent and dedication to performance, combined with feminine grace with power and technique, she is representative of the new generation of golfers.


Michelle Wie is in full preparation mode ahead of the 2013 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia scheduled to take place from 10th to 13th October at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.


Describing the tournament, Michelle Wie said, “Malaysia is such an interesting place and I'm really happy to be playing in the tournament alongside with world’s best female golfers.”


The Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia will see an impressive field of 72 players participating in the 72-hole stroke play tournament with no cut.
