OMEGA ambassador and golfer Michelle Wie announced as Nanjing 2014 Ambassador

OMEGA brand ambassador Michelle Wie can add another ambassadorial title to her name. She has been officially introduced as a Nanjing 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games Ambassador. The golf star is looking forward to her role in supporting the second ever edition of the Games.

Golf is on the roster of sports at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing exactly two years before it returns to the Olympic Games for the first time in more than a century. Michelle, who has two LPGA Tour wins, will be featured in a series of videos explaining to aspiring young golfers what it takes to make it at the top-level of the game and offering advice to future players, ahead of golf's debut at the Youth Olympics next year.

Michelle Wie is excited about her role and said, "I feel so honoured to be part of the Youth Olympic Games. I'm hoping to teach young people to have fun with their game, to be competitive, to really want something and to realise the importance of having a dream. I think it's really important to inspire young people to take up sport; it's important to be active and be outdoors.”

Michelle also revealed that she is excited by the prospect of competing for an Olympic medal in 2016 and has said that making the American team is one of her major goals over the next three years. OMEGA invited me to the London Olympic Games last year and that really got me inspired," she said adding, “It really got me motivated and I'm going do everything I can. It's one of my biggest focuses, making the American team for Rio."

The 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games run from August 16 to 28 next year. OMEGA will be on hand as Official Timekeeper.
