Two OMEGA women’s golfing ambassadors capture titles

Confirming the international strength of their sport, two of the world’s top women golfers – both of them OMEGA brand ambassadors – displayed their skills on the course in the American state of Florida over the weekend. One – China’s Shanshan Feng – won the LPGA Titleholders tournament; the other, Stacy Lewis of the USA, captured the Vare Trophy for lowest scoring average of the tour over the entire year.

Shanshan Feng won the LPGA Titleholders tournament with a 72-hole total of 15 under par. She had six birdies in her bogey-free final round. The final LPGA event of the year, it featured most of the top names in women’s golf. Stacy Lewis and fellow OMEGA ambassador Michelle Wie also played well, finishing tied for sixth and tied for 11th respectively.

With her strong finish, Stacy Lewis captured the Vare Trophy for lowest scoring average on the tour with an impressive 69.484 strokes per round. It marked the first time an American had won the award since 1994.

Stephen Urquhart, President of OMEGA, commended the outstanding play of the brand’s ambassadors saying, “We’re proud of Shanshan and Stacy for their achievements this past weekend and Michelle also played very well. Women’s golf is deservedly increasing in popularity. There are so many great players who have been elevating the level of play and I’m delighted that we’ll see so many of them at the OMEGA Dubai Ladies Masters – it promises to be a terrific competition.”
