OMEGA brand ambassador Sergio Garcia defeated Finland’s Mikko Ilonen in a three-hole playoff to win the Qatar Masters.
The two players had finished on 16 under par after 72 holes and replayed the par-five 18th hole. The third time proved to be a charm for the Spaniard as he birdied the hole to claim the title. Sergio had an impressive bogey-free final round but missed a five-foot birdie putt at the last that would have won him the tournament in 72 holes.
"It feels good," said Sergio, who will move back into the world's top 10 when the rankings are updated on Monday, after winning his first European Tour title in more than two years.
OMEGA congratulates its long-time ambassador for his victory and a great start to the new year.
