Rory McIlroy continues to top the leaderboard at the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic


At the end of the second day of play at the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic, Rory McIlroy has maintained his position atop the leaderboard. He completed the round at 2 under par, extending his overall total to an impressive 11 under par after 36 holes at the 25th anniversary of this prestigious golf tournament. The result sends him into the weekend with a one-stroke lead over American Brooks Koepka, who shot a dazzling 65 in the second round.

The OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic welcomed an enormous gallery of enthusiastic golf fans to the championship on the second day, with a large portion of them following the threesome of McIlroy, world number one Tiger Woods and defending champion Stephen Gallacher around the course in fantastic weather.

With his solid second round, Rory McIlroy has confirmed his position as the player to beat in the race to the trophy.
