The Stanford grad and OMEGA ambassador finished with a two-under-par 278 total on Sunday June 22nd, claiming her first career Major and moving to 7th in the women’s golf world rankings.
With a three-shot lead on the 16th hole on the final day at the U.S. Women’s Open at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club’s Course No. 2, Michelle nearly lost her lead with a double bogey only to recover in dramatic fashion with an incredible 25-foot birdie putt on the 17th.
OMEGA congratulates Michelle on her extraordinary achievement this weekend – a highlight of her continuously impressive 2014 season. The long-time ambassador has finished within the top 10 at nine of the 13 events she’s participated and has dominated the course and taken home the trophy twice this season.
OMEGA ambassador and world number one golfer Stacy Lewis also performed well at the U.S. Women’s Open this weekend, finishing just two strokes behind the winner to claim her 12th top 10 finish in 14 events this year.
