OMEGA turns back time with ‘ladies vintage exhibition’ at ION Orchard, Singapore.

Leading Swiss watchmaking company OMEGA celebrates beauty and femininity in luxury horology with an evocative exhibition at ION Orchard. Until 13 July 2014, the showcase will take guests from past to present, displaying over 20 precious ladies’ watches that span creations from the 1920s to today.

The exhibition venue at ION Orchard’s main atrium has been transformed into a luxurious milieu, indulging visitors with up-close-and-personal encounters of the timepieces. More importantly, the showcase sheds light on the feminine side of OMEGA, a brand renowned for creations such as the iconic Speedmaster ‘Moonwatch’.

Among the vintage watches on display – some shown in Singapore for the first time – are an Art Deco-inspired model in 18K gold case with an ivory enamel dial from 1920s; the OMEGA Medicus from 1937, the brand’s first ladies’ wristwatch with a central seconds hand; and the OMEGA Moldavita, a pendant watch attached to an intricate necklace of rare meteorite, pearls and fine gold.

Also on show are the latest additions to the contemporary lines of Constellation and De Ville Prestige, namely the Constellation “Pluma” and De Ville Prestige “Butterfly” timepieces. Besides enticing visitors to explore the other wristwatches in the collections, the modern timepieces highlight the brand’s role in the evolution of female-inspired horology, and demonstrate the range of decorative artistry and technologies that have thrilled women watch collectors over the years.
