Mexico City is the next stop for an unforgettable Master Chronometer event
To showcase the attributes of the new Globemaster collection, OMEGA has hosted a special product presentation for guests in Mexico City. Known as the “World´s First Master Chronometer”, the Globemaster is expected on the market imminently, and this was a good opportunity for invited guests to get a greater understanding of the new watch.
Mr. Jean-Claude Monachon, OMEGA Vice President, Product & Customer Service, was a special guest for the presentation, and offered an insight into the new METAS certification process that gives the Globemaster its “Master Chronometer” status. He also described the design of the watch in more detail.
As Mr. Monachon explained, to become a Master Chronometer, the Globemaster has not only passed the normal COSC standards of the watchmaking industry, but has also passed the 8 stringent tests set out by METAS (the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology). These tests prove a higher standard of precision, performance and magnetic resistance than any previous industry tests.
After the detailed presentation, guests enjoyed a special dining experience from Estudio Millesime at St. Regis Hotel, Mexico City. Besides the pieces, there were images describing the METAS testing criteria as well as vintage images of previous OMEGA models that inspired these revolutionary timepieces.
