OMEGA Golf Trophy finalists are surprised by two special guests

Michael Phelps and Sergio Garcia join the teams for the golfing occasion.

Players in the first-ever OMEGA Golf Trophy Final received a very special surprise at their tournament when they were joined by 28-time Olympic Games medalist Michael Phelps and top-ranked golfer Sergio Garcia.

The 30 amateur golfers were competing at the event at the Carmel Country Club in Charlotte after winning their qualifying local tournaments. As they attended the evening prize-giving ceremony, they were met by OMEGA’s celebrity friends who presented the teams with their awards.

The winning foursome was presented with OMEGA’s 2017 Seamaster Aqua Terra “Golf” timepieces, trophies and custom-made golf bags, while the second and third place teams received special-edition OMEGA sailing bracelets with the PGA Championship logo etched on them, golf club head covers and other OMEGA gifts.

"It's been a lot of fun sharing a memorable experience with other amateur golfers who love the game of golf as much as I do," said Phelps. "In speaking with a bunch of participants today, the first year of the OMEGA Golf Trophy has been a lot of fun and an overall success. As an OMEGA ambassador for more than a decade, the brand does a great job of creating wonderful experiences for their guests and ambassadors with professionalism and respect."

“It`s great to see OMEGA`s involvement at such a high level in a Major Championship,” said Garcia. “I am proud to be part of the OMEGA family and supporting this year’s OMEGA Golf Trophy Finals together with the Olympic legend Michael Phelps.”

The OMEGA Trophy golfers will now enjoy various hospitality events as part of OMEGA’s overall activation at the PGA Championship where the brand is positioned as the Official Timekeeper of the Major.
