Omega, prestigious Swiss Watchmaker and official timekeeper of Indian polo, marked the end of the polo season with the "Omega Polo Challenge" in the capital.

The grand event, held at the Jaipur Polo Grounds, Delhi, was played by India's leading polo players, divided into four teams named after the four Omega collections, Constellation, DeVille, Seamaster and Speedmaster. Each 'Omega Team' consisted of a royal member, cavalry officer, industrial magnate and high goal polo professional. Amongst the prominent team members were Yuvraj Shivraj Singh of Jodhpur, Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh of Kashmir, Karan Thapar of the Thapar Group, Naveen Jindal of Jindal Industries and Naveen Khanna of Allied Domecq, Col. Pinka Virk, Captain of the Indian polo team for the World Cup, Comdt. Col. Bhawani Singh of 61st Cavalry who is also Honorary Secretary of the Indian Polo Association and high goal polo players Samir Suhag and Dhruvpal Godara. The De Ville team scored a four goal to three and a half victory over the Constellation team to clinch the title in the 'Omega Polo Challenge' Cup, with Uday Kalaan and Manupal Godara each scoring two goals.

The polo event was further energised by the presence of Omega brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan, who created a sensation as he entered the grounds in a stallion-drawn buggy, and by the presence of glamorous Omega spokesperson Sonali Bendre. The royal game of polo was attended by the creme de la creme of Delhi's social circuit, with Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, Sharmila Tagore, designers Rina Dhaka, Rohit Bal, photographer Atul Kasbekar, Romi Chopra and models Sunalika Oberoi and Ruchi Malhotra cheering the players on?

The star attraction of the day was the Trick Riding Display by 61st Cavalry / President's Body Guard and the 'Musical Ride' by 61st Cavalry, followed by the presentation of the Omega Trophy by Her Highness Gayatri Devi. Mr Jean-Claude Monachon, Vice-President, Product Development, Omega, presented the members of the winning team with Omega watches.

At the event, Mr Monachon felt "Omega's fit with this grand game is perfect. There is an immense amount elegance, precision and timing required during this royal sport, qualities that perfectly embody the spirit of Omega."

Earlier in the day Omega launched its latest 'DeVille' with revolutionary Co-Axial Escapement technology in India.
