A highly successful second round of the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies

The second tournament in the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies turned out to be a highly memorable occasion. This annual event reflects OMEGA's commitment to golf at local as well as at international level. The second round was hosted at the de Bossey Golf and Country Club near Geneva. The club enjoyed a record turnout of 230 participants at the event that was co-organised by prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer OMEGA and top Swiss retailer, Gübelin in Geneva. This match was the second in a series of twelve: the winners of every match will play each other in the Grand Final which will take place in the exclusive Alpine resort of Crans-Montana in September.

The match was hosted by the de Bossey Golf and Country Club situated in the beautiful Salève foothills. Some impressive golf was played, a particular highlight being the stunning hole-in-one achieved by club member, Manuela Pietri. After the tournament, guests sampled cocktails in the clubhouse: a picturesque building in the style of a quaint old manor house.

Co-organiser Mr Fred Kummer, (manager of the Gübelin store in Geneva) commented on the success of the day, saying, "It was a just a great tournament. The standard of play was tremendous, particularly amongst the juniors. Nicolas Genoud's (a junior member) 2 under par performance is to be especially commended. As a club, we actively seek to nurture the sporting talent of all our members and encourage our juniors to reach their full potential on the course."

The next round of the OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies series of 12 matches will take place on 29 May in the Magliaso Golfclub and this will be co-organised by OMEGA and the Boutique Tourbillon, Lugano. The fourth round on 1 June will be hosted by the Interlaken Golfclub and co-organised by retailer Kirchhofer Uhren and OMEGA.
