OMEGA Zurich Flagship Store co-organises successful half-way round of the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies

The sixth round of the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies, co-organised by the OMEGA Flagship store in Zurich and the Golf Park Otelfingen, was a successful and memorable occasion. This was the first time that the event was co-organised by one of the brand's Flagship stores. The OMEGA Flagship store in Zurich has a prime location at Bahnhofstrasse 52, in the heart of Zurich's exclusive and world-famous shopping street and was opened in December 2000: the first Flagship store in the world dedicated solely to the OMEGA brand. The fact that it was co-organiser of the sixth round of the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies was a fitting way to celebrate reaching the half-way stage of the tournament.

The OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies reflects the brand's commitment to golf at local as well as international level. The event consists of a series of twelve matches and the winners of every match will go on to play against each other in the Grand Final in Crans-Montana. The finale promises to be a particularly special occasion, since it has been organised so as to coincide with the OMEGA European Masters which takes place at the same resort from 4-7 September.

Approximately 100 privileged guests were invited by co-organisers the OMEGA Flagship Store in Zurich and the Golf Park Otelfigen to partake in this the sixth round of the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies. The venue for the event was the Golf Club Lägern, situated in the picturesque valley of Furtal. The location and ideal weather conditions made for a highly enjoyable day of golf. Amongst the guests were numerous VIPs from the worlds of sport and commerce. The Golf Park Otelfingen is managed by MIGROS and numerous executives from this company were present as well as managers from Fujitsu-Siemens.

One special VIP was Mr Dave Dollé, the former Swiss sprinting champion, whose career spanned a decade, from 1992-2002. Dollé is now a self-employed personal trainer and is also Master Trainer at the exclusive Holmes Place Fitness Club, Zurich. His natural sporting talent was very much in evidence at this match: having only begun to learn the sport two years ago, Dollé managed to finish in seventh place! Dollé explained his passion for the sport, saying, "I love the fact that golf really pushes you both physically and mentally: you need to employ supreme effort in order to accomplish results".

Guests attended the prize-giving ceremony to award the winner, Golf Club Lägern member, Mr Mack Omodunbi. When asked what his winning strategy was, he jokingly replied, " I play with "No Name" clubs!". Afterwards, a sumptuous cocktail and buffet was enjoyed by all.

Golf Park Otelfingen manager, Mr Huber Baumgartner, was delighted with the day's success. He said, " We are proud to have co-organised the event with OMEGA. The OMEGA team did a wonderful job and their efforts clearly illustrate their commitment to this sport".

This was the first time that an OMEGA Flagship store co-organised this particular event. The OMEGA Flagship Store in Zurich was proud to be involved in this year's tournament and is already looking forward to co-organising the 2004 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies.

The next OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophy on 5 July 2003 at the Golf Club Erlen will be co-organised by "Uhren-Bijouterie Federer", Rorschach.
