Round nine of the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies

The ninth round of the 2003 OMEGA Swiss Golf Trophies was a tremendous success, with perfect weather conditions and a very high standard of play. Against a beautiful Alpine setting, contestants including numerous local prominent personalities demonstrated their skills, each hoping to win the much sought-after first prize: competing in the Grand Final at Crans-Montana, organised so as to coincide with the OMEGA European Masters which takes place at the same resort from 4-7 September.

The day dawned bright and clear in Davos, in the heart of the Landwasser Valley. Co-organisers OMEGA and Stäuble Chronometrie, Davos-Platz, were delighted not only that the weather was on their side, but also that enthusiasm to take part in the event was so strong. As the representative from Stäuble Chronometrie Mrs Isabelle Steinmann commented, "This was the second Golf Trophy that we had organised with OMEGA. The tournament proved to be so popular, that it was completely booked out within three days! It was a great pleasure to work with OMEGA: the organisation was so professional and there was a tremendous atmosphere amongst those taking part".

Play was followed by an apéritif, before the winner of the tournament, Mr Jan Schmid, was presented with the first prize.

Round ten of the event also took place today at the Arosa Golf Club.
