With a golf club in hand since the age of two, Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy has proven himself to be a passionate player who is worthy of his place near the top of the world rankings. Since turning professional in 2007, he has claimed numerous professional victories and four Majors – including the U.S. Open, The Open and two PGA Championships. He has also enjoyed multiple victories as part of the European Ryder Cup team.
In addition to being etched on many of golf’s most coveted trophies, the name Rory McIrloy looms large in golfing history. He is one of only four players to win three majors by the age of 25, and the youngest player ever to reach 10 million in career earnings on both the European and PGA Tour.
Rory joined OMEGA in 2013 and has been the guest of honour at many brand events, including his appearance at the Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe", where he took on emerging Swiss golfers at high altitudes. As a tribute to the enduring partnership, OMEGA created the "Rory McIlroy" Special Edition: an 18K yellow gold timepiece based on the original Speedmaster '57 with a special golf-inspired dial.
