Special Events at Planet OMEGA

A series of star-filled events has been held for the Planet OMEGA exhibition in New York, with special guests from across OMEGA’s ambassador family. Hosted at the Chelsea Factory in the heart of Manhattan, each occasion helped to highlight the brand’s history of watchmaking, as well as iconic timepieces from past and present.

OMEGA USA Brand President Arnaud Michon, Nicole Kidman and President and CEO of OMEGA Raynald Aeschlimann
On Opening Night, the actress Nicole Kidman brought her inspiring style to the exhibition. During her visit, she was able to admire some of the brand’s heritage and current styles, along with an original Ladymatic from 1955, which was touted as a revolution in ladies’ watchmaking when it was first released.
“This exhibition really proves the influence that OMEGA has had in so many aspects of life.”

Daniel Craig was also a guest of honour. As he stepped into the James Bond section of the exhibition, he was able to see many of the most recognisable Seamaster models that have appeared in over 25 years of 007 films. That includes the very Seamaster Diver 300M he recently wore in No Time To Die – a movie prop that is on loan from the OMEGA Museum in Switzerland.
“OMEGA is a brand I really value. We’ve experienced so many different things together.”

Cindy Crawford

In the exhibition’s second week, the legendary fashion icon, Cindy Crawford, was joined by her model daughter, Kaia Gerber. Both Cindy and Kaia were part of a panel discussion during their visit to Planet OMEGA, as they spoke about their careers, as well as their connection to OMEGA. Each of them wore Constellation watches, which have been closely aligned with the company’s reputation for precision since 1952.
The exhibition also welcomed astronauts Charlie Duke and Nicole Stott to a special panel discussion. They were the perfect representatives of OMEGA’s history in space, which began in 1962, and is one of the brand’s most famous stories. Ever since the OMEGA Speedmaster was qualified by NASA for all manned space missions, the watches have been a critical part of the greatest missions beyond Earth – including all six moon landings. As well as sharing details of their own careers, Charlie and Nicole were able to explore some of the space inspired watches on display, including an original Speedmaster CK2998 and the latest Moonwatch.
“Planet OMEGA is a perfect way to demonstrate the unique essence of this iconic brand.”
Nathan Chen, Oksana Masters, Allyson Felix and Noah Lyles
Finally, some of OMEGA’s most accomplished sporting ambassadors spoke with guests about their careers and the critical importance of OMEGA’s role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games – a position it has been evolving for over 90 years. The group included the sprinter Noah Lyles, Figure Skating champion Nathan Chen, the most decorated US Olympic track athlete Allyson Felix, and multi-sport Paralympian Oksana Masters.
The Planet OMEGA exhibition in New York showcases the renowned watchmaking journey of OMEGA. It has been split into six distinctive areas, each connected to the rich DNA of the company, including Sports and Olympic Games, Space, Ocean, James Bond, Friends, and Precision.
