Adding another chapter to OMEGA’s iconic diving legacy, Victor Vescovo has defied the crushing pressures of the ocean to reach a new World Record depth of 10,925m (35,843ft).
The explorer wore a Seamaster Planet Ocean inside his submersible, as he sunk deeper than any other human in history. During the descent, Vescovo spent four hours at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean’s Mariana Trench – the deepest point on Earth.
The World Record was beaten by 11m and took Vescovo further underwater than the height of Mt. Everest.
The dive forms part of the Five Deeps expedition - an attempt to explore the deepest points in each of the world's five oceans. OMEGA congratulates the entire expedition team on this history-making descent.
