Crafted with the most incredible selection of precious materials, this extraordinary Seamaster Aqua Terra is a jewellery watch that defines beauty.

The 38 mm case, with its diamond-set bezel, has been created from 18K Sedna™ gold. This same gold is also used for the watch’s hands. The radiant dial features a wave pattern made from 191 diamonds, while the indexes at each hour are marquise-cut blue sapphires.

The watch is presented on a glossy blue leather strap and is driven by the Master Chronometer Calibre 8807, for the industry’s highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic resistance.

Sedna^TM Gold

OMEGA has been using the exclusive 18K Sedna^TM Gold, its own fiery rose gold alloy, since 2012. Named after Sedna, an orbiting planetoid that has been described as one of the reddest in the solar system, Sedna^TM Gold not only bears all the standard characteristics of other 18K golds, but it also offers high resistance to the fading of colour and lustre over time. Its unique composition includes copper and palladium for colour and stability.

Diamond is recognised as the hardest material on Earth, graded 10 on the Mohs hardness scale, and is the only gem made entirely of carbon. In nature, it can only be formed under high temperature and pressure conditions that exist within a specific depth range (~100 miles) beneath the Earth's surface. To decorate its timepieces and jewellery, OMEGA uses "Top Wesselton" white COLOUR diamonds with CLARITY ranging from pure to VVS (Very Very Small inclusions). Along with choosing the best weight in CARAT, the CUT is also carefully selected in order to maximise brightness and scintillation. It goes without saying that OMEGA is a certified member of the non-profit Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), assuring customers that its processes involving people, materials and the environment are ethical and fair.

Sapphire Crystal

To really appreciate the finer details of a timepiece, OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with a highly scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment. Before the machining and finishing processes take place, the sapphire crystals are produced under the Verneuil process, also called flame fusion. It involves the melting of the raw substance using oxyhydrogen flame and the crystallisation of the melted droplets to form a cylinder. Graded 9 on the Mohs-hardness scale (graded 1-10), the resulting sapphire crystals are virtually scratch-proof and very hard, ensuring an unhindered vision at all times.

Twice as precise as any officially certified chronometer

Our Master Chronometer watches are tested and certified twice. Firstly, the movement is tested by the Official Swiss Chronometer Control (COSC) with precision criteria of 0/+6 seconds per day. Then the complete watch and its movement undergo eight Master Chronometer tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) with criteria of %3/%4 seconds per day.

Proprietary anti-magnetic materials

Everyday items such as mobile phones, metal clasps on handbags, laptops, MRI, induction hobs or automatic doors; subject a watch to magnetic fields and can affect its performance for good. To prevent the risk of permanent deviations of up to several minutes a day we've conceived movements with antimagnetic materials, such as the silicon balance spring, capable of withstanding the highest fields.

Durability

Our watches are engineered to the highest standards and certified as such. Each watch destined to become a Master Chronometer must first pass 8 stringent tests. The examinations we perform for precision, magnetic-resistance, power reserve and water-resistance allow us to cover the certified watches with a comprehensive 5-year warranty.

Less servicing

Extended service intervals

Each Master Chronometer is equipped with a Co-Axial escapement, conceived to reduce the mechanical constraints inside the movement. This significantly reduces the need for lubrication and hence the need for servicing. All mechanical movements need to be serviced periodically, but an OMEGA Master Chronometer offers more time between servicing than many other watches.

Shock-resistance

During the homologation process, OMEGA watches are tested to the extreme. This phase includes shock examinations, to confirm the reliability of each timepiece, and to check that its precision is maintained after a severe impact. All OMEGA timepieces are designed to withstand shocks corresponding to a 1-metre drop on a hard wooden floor. For a standard 150g timepiece, this sudden and rapid acceleration is an equivalent force of up to 5,000 G on the watch head.
