The classic 45.5 mm numbered edition Chrono Chime has an 18K Sedna™ Gold case inspired by the 2nd generation Speedmaster, the CK 2998, the first watch worn in space.
The dial, in blue aventurine “Grand Feu” enamel, features an inner bezel and subdials in 18K Sedna™ Gold “exclusive acoustic waves”. The hour markers and hour/minutes hands are in diamond-polished 18K Sedna™ Gold. Providing extra touches of colour on the display are red tipped dial hands and blue CVD subdial hands.
The chime pusher at 8 o’clock sports a charming polished and embossed music note, while the split-seconds pusher at 2 o’clock has a red hybrid ceramic ring to mirror the look of the split seconds hand. Completing the look is a bracelet and buckle in 18K Sedna™ Gold.
The watch’s special presentation box in walnut features a resonance plate made of spruce to amplify the sound of each chime. The monumental case includes a magnifying glass to explore the watch’s details, a storybook and travel bag.
Providing the power is the most complicated calibre OMEGA has ever made: OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 1932. A fully integrated chronograph and minute repeater, which fuses both functions together in one watch movement, in order to chime the elapsed time.
All OMEGA watches are delivered with a 5-year warranty that covers the repair of any material or manufacturing defects. Please refer to the operating instructions for specific information about the warranty conditions and restrictions.
The chronograph function is a mechanism for measuring time intervals. A chronograph watch can therefore be used to time events while displaying the time like any traditional watch.
Guaranteeing the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic-resistance, as set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
A tachymeter watch has a function for measuring speed. It is a chronograph with a graduated dial on which speed can be read in kilometres per hour based on a 1000 metre distance.

SednaTM Gold
OMEGA has been using the exclusive 18K SednaTM Gold, its own fiery rose gold alloy, since 2012. Named after Sedna, an orbiting planetoid that has been described as one of the reddest in the solar system, SednaTM Gold not only bears all the standard characteristics of other 18K golds, but it also offers high resistance to the fading of colour and lustre over time. Its unique composition includes copper and palladium for colour and stability.

Sapphire Crystal
To really appreciate the finer details of a timepiece, OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with a highly scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment. Before the machining and finishing processes take place, the sapphire crystals are produced under the Verneuil process, also called flame fusion. It involves the melting of the raw substance using oxyhydrogen flame and the crystallisation of the melted droplets to form a cylinder. Graded 9 on the Mohs-hardness scale (graded 1-10), the resulting sapphire crystals are virtually scratch-proof and very hard, ensuring an unhindered vision at all times.

The advantages of this watch
The advantages of this watch
Inside this timepiece are the revolutionary components that guarantee the highest standards of performance. From the Co-Axial escapement for long-lasting precision, to the silicon balance spring for superior anti-magnetism, OMEGA has conquered every challenge that matters.
Master Chronometer Certified
Superior Precision
Twice as precise as any officially certified chronometer
Our Master Chronometer watches are tested and certified twice. Firstly, the movement is tested by the Official Swiss Chronometer Control (COSC) with precision criteria of -4/+6 seconds per day. Then the complete watch and its movement undergo eight Master Chronometer tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) with criteria of 0/+5 seconds per day.
Everyday items such as mobile phones, metal clasps on handbags, laptops, MRI, induction hobs or automatic doors; subject a watch to magnetic fields and can affect its performance for good. To prevent the risk of permanent deviations of up to several minutes a day we've conceived movements with antimagnetic materials, such as the silicon balance spring, capable of withstanding the highest fields.
To ensure the integrity of our timepieces at depth, not just some but all watches are fully immersed in water and pressure is applied up to the point of the guaranteed water resistance. By submerging each watch in water we have chosen – yet again - to exceed normal testing standards.
Our watches are engineered to the highest standards and certified as such. Each watch destined to become a Master Chronometer must first pass 8 stringent tests. The examinations we perform for precision, magnetic-resistance, power reserve and water-resistance allow us to cover the certified watches with a comprehensive 5-year warranty.
Less servicing
Extended service intervals
Each Master Chronometer is equipped with a Co-Axial escapement, conceived to reduce the mechanical constraints inside the movement. This significantly reduces the need for lubrication and hence the need for servicing. All mechanical movements need to be serviced periodically, but an OMEGA Master Chronometer offers more time between servicing than many other watches.
Shock-resistance
During the homologation process, OMEGA watches are tested to the extreme. This phase includes shock examinations, to confirm the reliability of each timepiece, and to check that its precision is maintained after a severe impact. All OMEGA timepieces are designed to withstand shocks corresponding to a 1-metre drop on a hard wooden floor. For a standard 150g timepiece, this sudden and rapid acceleration is an equivalent force of up to 5,000 G on the watch head.

MovementCALIBREOMEGA 1932
The most complicated movement the brand has ever produced, OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 1932, developed with Blancpain, is a fully integrated chronograph and minute repeater. In order to chime the elpased time, the 1932 requires its own mechanical “brain” to merge the two functions and sense which one to engage. Its Co-Axial escapement, an essential component in all of OMEGA’s movements, beats at an unusual 5 Hz to display 1/10th of a second, like the pocket chronographs used to time the 1932 Olympic Games. The complex movement also integrates a security and split seconds function. The luxurious handmade calibre is satin-brushed, mirror polished and graced with 46.44 grams of gold.
