Description

In tribute to the very first Seamaster models of 1948, this unique Limited Edition timepiece has remained true to the original post-war design, while introducing some very 21st century technology.

The 38 mm 950 platinum case houses a domed opaline 950 platinum dial with a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, as well as leaf style hands, indexes and a vintage OMEGA logo all in 18K yellow gold.

The caseback features a flat sapphire crystal which has been laser-engraved and lacquered by hand with a 70th Anniversary logo, a Chris-Craft boat and a Gloster Meteor aircraft that pays tribute to the aviators who placed their trust in OMEGA’s timepieces during World War II.

Presented on a hunter green leather strap, the watch is limited to 70 models and is driven by the OMEGA Master Chronometer Calibre 8805, certified at the industry’s highest standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).

Key materials

    Sapphire Crystal

Platinum

Platinum stands out in the luxury world for its rarity, enduring silvery whiteness and brilliant shine. It is also highly unreactive and has a remarkable resistance to corrosion. The rarity of the material is often associated with exclusivity and wealth, which is why OMEGA uses 950 platinum for exceptional models of prestige. These watches offer wearers a distinctive look and a unique feel unlike any other metal.

Sapphire Crystal

To really appreciate the finer details of a timepiece, OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with a highly scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment. Before the machining and finishing processes take place, the sapphire crystals are produced under the Verneuil process, also called flame fusion. It involves the melting of the raw substance using oxyhydrogen flame and the crystallisation of the melted droplets to form a cylinder. Graded 9 on the Mohs-hardness scale (graded 1-10), the resulting sapphire crystals are virtually scratch-proof and very hard, ensuring an unhindered vision at all times.

A new look for your watch

Your watch and strap should go together perfectly, but that doesn't mean you can't experiment with different combinations. Why not mix things up and see what happens? You may discover a look that's as individual as you are.
