Diver 300M - Alternative view image 1

As the Official Timekeeper of the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada, OMEGA has crafted a brand new timepiece in honour of the historic ocean battle. The watch delivers an iconic Seamaster design, enhanced with several pioneering features and a variety of cutting-edge materials that are truly befitting of the boats that race across the water. In terms of sailing prowess, this chronograph certainly leads from the front.

An iconic Diver 300M design

OMEGA has crafted this 44 mm chronograph from stainless steel, with a bezel ring in blue ceramic and a white enamel diving scale. The legendary Diver waves are laser-engraved on the blue ceramic dial, and as a special touch, the red aluminium central seconds chronograph hand features an America’s Cup on the counterweight.

Pioneering Details

  • The new Chrono Lock system
The new Chrono Lock system is designed to secure the chronograph functions, making sure you can lock your measured time without accidently pressing the pushers. By simply switching the trigger between positions A and B, you can lock and unlock the pushers.
  • The easy-to-change strap system

A new easy-to-change strap system gives wearers the opportunity to easily switch between the watch’s metal bracelet and rubber strap without using any tools. A simple button at the base releases the pins in no time at all.

  • The pushers in soft-touch rubber
By crafting the watch’s pushers in red and blue soft-touch rubber, OMEGA has improved their grip during water activities, making them much more user-friendly. To be as precise as possible when using the chronograph functions, every little detail helps.
  • Regatta Subdial
For a useful racing function, OMEGA has included a regatta countdown indicator ring in red aluminium. Instead of an hour hand, there is a rotating disc underneath the subdial, enabling better visibility of the minute and small seconds hand, which itself is inspired by the shape of a boat hull.

A Team Effort

The crew may get the glory, but winning the America’s Cup requires a full team of designers, engineers and boat builders – all working together towards a common goal. Behind the scenes, Emirates Team New Zealand is meeting the challenges with its combined experience, innovation and instinct.

“There is an absolute balance between the sailing team, the design team, the engineering team, and the shore team with our programmes in sailing.”
