Sporting Spirit
Sports timekeeping has been a part of the Omega story for more than a century. We are happy to be at the service of the men and women who generate so much excitement through their consistent determination to be the best at what they do. Their results deserve to be flawlessly timed, boldly displayed, and recorded for future generations. Omega has been responsible for the timekeeping of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, including 24 Olympic Games, and also for the development of the equipment which has ensured that the technology has kept pace with ever-better performances.

London 2012
The 2012 London Olympic Games will be particularly momentous for OMEGA. It will be the 25th time that we have served as Official Timekeeper and it will mark the 80th anniversary of OMEGA’s first Olympic Games.

Youth Olympic Games
The first-ever Youth Olympic Games are being contested in Singapore from the 14th of August, featuring talented 14- to 18-year-old athletes from around the world. OMEGA is proud to be able to support these stars of tomorrow in our role as Official Timekeeper.

Vancouver 2010
The latest chapter in OMEGA’s Olympic story took place in the beautiful Canadian province of British Columbia. Our 220 timekeepers and data handlers were supported by more than 250 tons of equipment at the Vancouver 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Olympic Timekeeping History
Timekeeping technology has changed dramatically since OMEGA’s first Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 and we have been responsible for the development of much of the equipment which plays such a critical role in international sporting events.

Swimming
OMEGA’s relationship with swimming dates back to the 1932 Olympic Games, when swimming events were timed with hand held stopwatches. We still time the world’s best swimmers with technology which flawlessly records their performances to the nearest hundredth of a second.

Golf
OMEGA has long supported professional golf and has worked to make it a truly global sport. We look forward to golf’s Olympic début in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

Athletics
OMEGA’s timekeepers deliver perfect results in athletic events at competitions all over the world – even when eight runners cross the finish line within a quarter second of each other.

Sailing
The link between sailing and timekeeping dates back to the times when sailors relied on high-precision marine chronometers for navigation. The OMEGA Seamaster is the wristwatch of choice for many of the world’s great sailors.
